Netflix is making some big promises for Marvel fans at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour. According to a report from Variety, Netflix's Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos said the streaming video service would like to launch a new season of a Marvel show twice a year.
“I think ideally there will be a rhythm of about every six months you’ll get a new season or a new series from the Defenders group," said Sarandos." And then they’ll crossover into a combined [Defenders] season once we’ve launched the first season of each of the four characters.”
Daredevil recently completed its first season with a second already filming, and a second show -- Jessica Jones -- is underway. Luke Cage's titular star will appear first in Jessica Jones, but no further casting for that series or Iron Fist has been announced. Sarandos also said that some of the Netflix/Marvel shows would receive additional seasons, although not necessarily all.
